LiDR Contract Furniture have made the largest investment in the company’s history by bringing in 2 state of the art pieces of machinery within just a few weeks of each other.

In October this year, LiDR shipped in a Homag CENTATEQ E-310, a huge CNC & edgebanding machine. This gives the company the ability to machine and edge a panel up to 4200x1900mm which is a significant upgrade to the previous capability.

The machine also incorporates the airTec gluing system which will apply the edging with a seamless, zero glue line, further upgrading the quality on LiDR’s already high standards.

Before the close of the year, the company’s existing straight line edgebander will also be replaced. The new model incorporates the same airTec technology as the CNC, meaning both straight and shaped panels can have the option of a zero glue line. All elements in the machine are higher grade than the current model, which will give a superior finish and the ability to handle much larger panels on the auto return system.

Production director Darren Lowe said “We’re very proud to be making these significant upgrades to our plant and equipment. We will make huge gains in quality, efficiency and productivity and we are looking forward to seeing the full benefit of that investment in 2024 and beyond”.

LiDR have a number of large projects booked in for 2024, and will also be exhibiting at the Materials & Finishes show at the NEC to exhibit their CNC machining service. You can register to attend the show here.
